Educational activities

DEVELOPMENT OF LOGICAL-MATHEMATICAL THINKING

is encouraged by the use of:
  • Logical reasoning games.
  • The treasure basket.
  • Heuristic play.
  • Experiment trays.

COMMUNICATION

  • The stimulation of language and communication skills.
  • Sensory stimulation activities.
  • The children develop the idea of learning to control theiremotions in an environment of emotional and physical security, where the children feel loved, appreciated and gain the confidence to confront the challenges that they will face. Our idea is that they establish a personal relationship with all our team, building affective links that enable them to have sufficient self-confidence to progress in this stage of learning.

FACILITATING PERSONAL AUTONOMY

  • As children begin to develop motor and linguistic skills, we can begin to involve them increasingly in their own personal care and hygiene needs. Feeding, personal hygiene and rest periods are all activities that if made attractive to the child’s sense of play

PSYCHOMOTOR ACTIVITIES

  • Psychomotor skill learning at the centre is in line with the work of Bernard Aucoutourier, and the experiences of the Lóczy Institute and their team, specialists in psychomotor development.

ENGLISH

  • The children's English learning is based on a participatory teaching strategy, designed and delivered by a native English teacher.

Our all-round approach to classroom activities is based on the children’s enjoyment: the older children also take part in small projects.

Complementary activities

CLASS OUTINGS

  • These are based on our small projects and the availability of activities provided by the Council’s Department of Education Dynamics.

A NIGHT AWAY FROM HOME

  • As a climax to the school's activities there is an annual, overnight outing, designed to develop the children's independence.

SUMMER WORKSHOPS

  • In July, as part of the run-up to the children's holidays, we provide them with original activities designed for them to have fun.

FESTIVALS

  • The school celebrates all the traditional festivals, such as San Antonio, and includes in its curriculum celebrations that help make the children aware of the changes of the seasons.
